Mia is attending Ozark Bible Institute, currently has a 3.6 GPA, and is majoring in Christian Education. She is active in her church. She leads praise and worship, does door to door evangelism, and volunteers for Girls Night Out and Nursing Home Ministry. Mia stated, “growing up as an adopted kid that was, by the Grace of the Lord, granted a new life at a young age, I’ve always had a heart for those who might have less or have come from less compared to others. I’ve always wanted to show them that they don’t have to be a repeat of where they may have come from or their current environment. I believe the Lord has shaped and molded me into who I am today. It takes determination to be different and to want to make a difference in someone else’s life as well. I would say that it’s not about the challenges we face, but it’s about the comeback and what we do and make of those challenges.”
Mia, we are so proud of you. May this scholarship remind you that we believe in you, we’re cheering for you, and we can’t wait to see what God will do through you. Keep rising. Keep leading. Keep EmpowHERing. Congratulations!
